Lay Corner Stone Sunday

Arrangements have been completed for the laying of the corner stone of St. Joseph’s Mission Church on West Boulevard Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. There will be a sermon in English and a sermon in Italian with leading Catholic clergymen from Southern Illinois present and assisting.

The corner stone will contain copies of the Marion Daily Republican of today and many other things of interest. The complete program follows.

Sam’s Notes: St. Joseph’s Catholic Church was originally located at 908 W. Boulevard on the corner of N. Vicksburg St. The home still located on that lot was the parsonage for the priest and the day care at the rear of the lot was the original Knights of Columbus hall.
