JC Mitchell 1852-1927
James Cafield Mitchell was born in Corinth Township, near Attila in Williamson County on October 30, 1852 to William N. Mitchell and Rachel Roberts. He attended the public schools and at the early age of 16 years engaged in the drug business, in which he continued with success until 1886. Continue reading
John B. Bainbridge was one of the sons of a pioneer family which settled in a small community bearing the Bainbridge name three miles west of Marion. John B. was the only son of the family to stay in the area, becoming a prominent storekeeper, bank director, and dealer in real estate. Continue reading
Henry W. Perry, a surveyor, was employed October 16, 1839, to survey and plat the town lots, which are known as the Original Survey of the City of Marion, including the Public Square. These lots were ordered to be sold on six, twelve and eighteen months’ time by the Sheriff. Continue reading
