1951, June 25 – Morrison Oil Co on N. Van Buren Totally Destroyed

1950, July 3 – Fredman Furniture on W. Main St. Destroyed

1950, March 7 – Bracy Building on W. Main Damaged

Fire at 3:30 am Tuesday damaged the two story frame building at 215 W. Main St. owned by Harry W. Bracy. Damage to the building was estimated at between $4000 and $5000. Continue reading →

Names were often spelled differently back in time due to illiteracy and transcription errors. Consider all possible spellings of a last name. For instance, Maynard could also be Manard, Menard, Maynerd or Mainard.

Also, try leaving trailing letters off of names that have variations and keep the letters that tend to stay the same.
