June 26, 1929- City Council Approves Asphalt Cooker

1929, June 10 – Pride Building on W. Main St. Damaged

Fire which broke out in the basement of the Geo. K. Pride building on West Main shortly after 1 am Monday, left the Pride Studio and Gift Shop practically ruined, put the cables of the Western Union next door out of commission and filled the upstairs apartments with smoke driving the occupants from their beds. To improve search results when more than two words are used in the search box, enclosing them in quotes will return only the exact phrase. i.e. "Tom Jones"

Names were often spelled differently back in time due to illiteracy and transcription errors. Consider all possible spellings of a last name. For instance, Maynard could also be Manard, Menard, Maynerd or Mainard.

Also, try leaving trailing letters off of names that have variations and keep the letters that tend to stay the same.
